Autumn DanceCome my lady, pray dance with me, thro’ woodland glade where none can see. Imagined fairies will bring applause, to encourage our dainty cause. The autumn leaves our curtain call, as all around us they do fall. On stony bridge across the stream, where thro’ the trees the sun doth beam. In close embrace our steps will flow, as wind makes music with its blow. No violin could be as sweet, as music when our bodies meet. She did run wild throughout the dream, And swerved in all directions. But black-cloaked man was everywhere, Inviting her affections.
To her surprise was not repulsed, By his black and piercing eyes. And open mouth that breathed a mist, While releasing ghoulish sighs.
The nightly dreams did visit harsh, And always he was there. Her fear then turned to pity, Saw no anger in his stare.
